Booster: Increase Campaign Effectiveness with Automatic Follow-ups

Every marketer knows the scenario: a carefully prepared email, SMS, or mobile push campaign goes out, but a portion of the audience doesn’t react at all. They don’t open your messages or click the links – and the potential for sales or conversions is lost.

Until now, the solution was to manually create additional campaigns and segments of recipients who didn’t open, which required time and precision. This often meant missed or delayed follow-ups, reducing your chance to win back customer attention.

That’s why we created Booster – an intelligent feature in the MessageFlow panel that automates sending reminder messages. Booster allows you to easily reach unengaged recipients again, increasing your campaign’s effectiveness without any extra effort from you.

What is Booster and how does it automatically increase campaign effectiveness?

Booster is a new feature in the MessageFlow panel that intelligently automates sending an additional message – a follow-up campaign. Its goal is to re-engage recipients who did not react to your main campaign (e.g., they didn’t open an email or click a link).

The biggest advantage of Booster is that you only configure it once while creating the main campaign. In the final step of the creator – in the summary – you can activate Booster, set the sending conditions, and… that’s where your work ends. The system monitors recipient reactions on its own and sends a follow-up message to a precisely selected group.

Booster supports all key communication channels, making it an ideal tool for a cross-channel strategy. You can flexibly combine different channels to reach your audience as effectively as possible. Here are a few examples:

  • When you send an email, Booster can automatically send a second email or an SMS message to those who did not open or click a link in the first message.
  • When your main campaign is an SMS, the system can send another SMS to those who did not open the original message (if it contained a tracking link).
  • When you use mobile push notifications, Booster can send an SMS message to re-engage users who were unresponsive.

How does Booster work? Automation in 5 simple steps

The entire Booster mechanism was designed to simplify your work as much as possible. Here’s how it works:

  1. You create the main campaign. The process is just like the one you already know – you prepare the content for an email, SMS, or mobile push message, going through the standard stages in the MessageFlow panel.
  2. You activate and configure Booster. In the final step of creating the campaign (“Summary”), you turn it on with a single click and define simple conditions: the sending channel (e.g., SMS after an email campaign), the delay time (from 2 hours to 7 days), and the action criterion (no open or no click).
  3. The system starts monitoring. After the main campaign is sent, MessageFlow automatically tracks who opened the message or clicked a link and who remained inactive.
  4. Booster dynamically creates a segment. Just before the scheduled follow-up, Booster automatically generates a list of recipients who meet the criteria you defined.
  5. The message reaches the inactive users. At the scheduled time, the follow-up is delivered only to inactive users, without any additional intervention on your part.

With Booster, you don’t need to create extra campaigns or build lists of inactive users. Everything happens automatically, and if needed, you can cancel the scheduled send at any time.

What do you gain by using Booster?

Booster is a tool that combines simplicity of configuration with a real impact on your campaign results. Here are the most important reasons to incorporate it into your activities:

Boost your effectiveness and ROI

Thanks to automatic follow-up messages, you “win back” recipients who missed your first message. This is a simple path to higher open and click-through rates, which ultimately translates into real conversions. In practice, one campaign gives you two chances to connect with your customers, significantly increasing the value and ROI of every send.

Save your most valuable resource: time

Forget about manually creating additional “non-opener” segments and planning subsequent send-outs. You configure the entire process just once while creating the main campaign. The system takes care of the rest, allowing you to focus on other strategic tasks.

Communicate smarter and more flexibly

Booster supports a cross-channel strategy, enabling you to reach recipients through a different channel – for instance, by sending an SMS to people who didn’t open an email. What’s more, you decide when the message should be sent (from 2 hours to 7 days after the campaign), and precise criteria (no open or no click) eliminate the risk of spamming. This makes your communication not only multi-channel but also fully thought-out.

Booster in practice: See how to use it in your campaigns

Booster proves effective across many industries and campaign types – whenever you want to make sure your message gets noticed. Here are a few practical scenarios you can implement right away:

Maximising sales and limited-time offers

Are you running a campaign promoting a new collection or a sale? Send an automatic promotion reminder to those who didn’t open the first email. If the offer is time-limited, you can go a step further: set up Booster to send an SMS message to unengaged recipients 24 hours before the offer ends. This reminder highlights the urgency and motivates them to act.

Increasing engagement and attendance

Booster is also an excellent tool for recapturing customer attention and strengthening relationships. Are you organising a webinar or another event and want to ensure good attendance? If someone didn’t open your email invitation, the feature can automatically send an SMS reminder or a second email with a new, intriguing subject line. It works similarly for reactivating inactive users – an SMS message to people who ignored an email about new system features is a simple way to reignite their interest.

Best practices: What to remember when using Booster

For Booster to work as effectively as possible and deliver real results, it’s worth remembering a few key principles.

First: give the recipient a new reason to react.

If someone didn’t open the first message, sending the exact same content a second time defeats the purpose. The key to success is change. For an email campaign, create a new, intriguing subject line – personalising it with the recipient’s name is always a great idea. In an SMS, shift the message’s focus, for example, by more strongly emphasizing a benefit or a limited-time offer. Remember, a second contact is a second chance to make a good impression.

Second: choose the ideal moment and the right group.

The sending time is crucial. For SMS campaigns, shorter intervals (e.g., 2-4 hours) often work better, whereas, for emails, it’s worth giving recipients more time to react (e.g., 1-3 days). Precise targeting is just as important. By default, Booster sends messages only to those who haven’t reacted, which helps you avoid annoying active customers and maintain high-quality communication.

Third: test, analyse, and optimise.

There is no single golden rule for all industries and audiences. Therefore, you should check what works best in your case. Does an email follow-up deliver better results, or does a cross-channel SMS? Analyse the open and click-through statistics after each campaign with Booster, and use the knowledge you gain to optimise your settings in the future.

In the MessageFlow panel, you’ll find detailed statistics that will help you optimize your next campaigns with Booster.

With full follow-up automation, you can recapture the attention of recipients who didn’t react to the first message – without extra work or the risk of anyone being overlooked.

With Booster, you can maximise effectiveness and ROI while saving precious time by eliminating the need to create segments manually. It is also powerful support for your cross-channel communication strategy, giving you full flexibility in reaching customers – in the way that works best for you.

Don’t let your campaigns go unnoticed. Enable Booster in the MessageFlow panel and see for yourself how easily you can increase conversions with intelligent follow-ups.
